Rob Singer organized Southwest Sales Associates in 1988 as a packaging materials and packaging equipment supplier. Located in Denver, Colorado and serving the Western United States, then “Southwest Supply” provided materials and services to integrated food processors across the region. Target market expansions led to a growth of product offerings and participation in commercial, industrial, and food industries. By 1998, Southwest Sales Associates had evolved into the premier powder and bulk materials processing and packaging equipment provider in the intermountain West. In 2011, Rob's son, Sam, joined the business as a sales assistant, and in 2017, in partnership with Southwest Sales Associates, Sam opened an office in California under the name Coast Integrated to focus on supplying packaging and material handling equipment throughout all industries on the Pacific Coast. Together, the teams at SWSA and Coast Integrated provide the highest quality customer service and representation throughout all of the western United States.

Rob studied Engineering at the University of Iowa before beginning his professional career selling heavy equipment in Denver in 1982.  An “engineer by education and a salesman by trade”, Rob’s background was the perfect catalyst to drive Southwest Sales Associates into its current market role. Extensive experience with capital equipment sales, mining and fine mineral processing, energy production, USDA and FDA inspected food processing, liquid packaging applications, and much more give Southwest Sales Associates the unique skill set necessary to provide its customers with the best system and component solutions available.

Before receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship from Chapman University in Orange, California, Sam grew up accompanying his father in and out of processing plants and facilities as well as listening-in on business calls during long car rides throughout the southwest United States. For him, it was a natural transition into the industry after stepping away from a career at a major film studio in Hollywood. Sam runs the Los Angeles office under the name Coast Integrated where he focuses on packaging and material handling equipment as well as expanding SWSA's presence on the Pacific Coast.
